Female Life Study, Sitting (part)

Female Life Study, Sitting (part) -- inscription

Female Life Study, Sitting (incomplete), 1956
Two figures: one, almost complete, in red chalk; the other, incomplete, in pencil; overall size 44 cm x 30 cm
Inscribed in an unknown hand 'DRAWN FOR C. KNIGHT BY WILLIAM ROBERTS at L.C.C. Central School of Arts and Crafts Feb. 1956' with an arrow pointing from the inscription to the pencil drawing, presumably indicating that the chalk drawing was by a student and the pencil drawing was Roberts's demonstration of how it should appear.

PROVENANCE: Golding Young, Lincoln, 25 May 2022 (£280+fees) > private collection, UK
